Accreditation is a measure of excellence

We provide students the highest level of educational excellence. Our Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Science in Social Work programs are accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). Our Master of Science in Couple and Family Therapy program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education (COAMFTE).

These national accreditations indicate our programs meet and/or exceed the standards that define competent preparation for professional social work, at the generalist and specialized levels and for couple and family therapy.

Accreditation applies to all program sites and program delivery methods including campus-based and online learning. It provides assurance that our programs operate at the highest level of excellence, and students receive the highest level of academic knowledge and training to be well-prepared working professionals.

Maintaining accreditation is ongoing and it requires us to commit to a self-study process to critically examine and evaluate our programs, processes and student learning outcomes.

In June 2020, CSWE-BOA approved and adopted the Accreditation Standards for Professional Practice Doctoral Programs in Social Work. Our Doctor of Social Work (DSW) Program has adopted these standards and is preparing for accreditation. Former, current and incoming DSW students will not experience issues or barriers to practice or gain licensure. Graduates of the DSW program before the accreditation is required will not face any negative impacts.
