Thrive at kent

Stay connected and engaged

We have the best alumni

Kent School has a vibrant and engaged alumni that span across the United States and internationally. Our graduates are part of the largest alumni group in the state of Kentucky. They are a testament to the quality of our program. We celebrate their professional achievements in research and service, and recognize their contributions that make the world a better place for all.

The Cardinal family is strong because our alumni are deeply rooted in their collegiate community and understand the unique traditions that make UofL a truly special place to learn, work and play. They provide support in mentorship and volunteerism as we work to educate and prepare the next generation of social workers and therapists.

The Kent School Alumni Council offers opportunities to connect with one another after graduation through networking and community service. In addition, the council provides continuing educational opportunities for professional growth. They provide engagement with the Kent School and its alumni, faculty, staff and students.

Take the opportunity to build relationships through student mentorship and service, and unite together to make a positive impact in the lives of our students and the growth of our programs.

“Cultivating meaningful connections, celebrating our shared traditions and creating opportunities for alumni to engage, mentor and lead strengthens the lifelong bond between Kent and its alumni. I hope to move Kent’s mission forward through these efforts. Our community is one of Kent’s greatest strengths, and together we can ensure that the values learned here continue to shape lives on campus, across generations and around the world.”

Tamara Williams, assistant director of alumni engagement in the Kent School of Social Work and Family Science

“Being a student at Kent School changed my life. I arrived as a shy introverted person with low self-esteem. Because of the intentional attention I received from professors, I was able to discover and overcome my erroneous self doubts and obstacles. I found my voice as a student and continued to grow within my profession to provide local, national and international support to those in need. As a semi retired professional, I continue to use the skills and techniques I learned at Kent School to help other social workers and clients to succeed.”
